I am very excited to have purchased my website www.sensoryacting.com which will launch in December as a promotional site to get involved with my sensory acting rehearsal techniques (formally sense imagination sessions in creating a character - what a mouthful!) ...from this the professional artefact can be purchased in a personal book format

I have spent the last two weeks running sense imagination rehearsal techniques with my actor- Neil. Great, pertinent results. Interview process in action and final artefact website structure starting to form.

Rehearsal Day 1

Over the weekend actor Neil Connelly and I filmed rehearsals and imagination activities using the five senses to delve into the character of our Hamlet.

We are using the background of a revolutionary/terroist army cell hiding in London during the 1980's and the internal family implosions which result through jealousy, revenge, politics and intrigue.

The results were very exciting. The findings are inspiring a website for the professional artefact.

Monday 26 March 2012

After long negotiations I have secured Neil Connolly from the very much in demand 'The Improsario's' (www.theimprosarios.com) a very exciting improvisation acting company to play my hamlet for my degree project - 'Sense Imagination Sessions In Creating A Character' ... filming begins this weekend : ) !

ONE PAGE SUMMARY

BA WORK BASED LEARNING TITLE:

SENSE IMAGINATION SESSIONS IN CREATING A CHARACTER

Reassessing my Module 2 feedback, I was content with the remarks on my approach and reflection. However- ‘my research proposal, is at it stands a little woolly around the edges.’

I can relate to that and will endeavour to clarify my proposal.

THE PLAN

A character actor and I (as director) will film five scenes from a popular text using a different sense from the basic five per scene.

The aim to create a performance more interesting, raw and intriguing than using other, more drawn out processes.

We will rehearse the scenes using the technique which we will document through film and filmed interviews. Then we shall film the scenes proper. Lastly upon viewing the footage we shall judge and ascertain whether my sense imagination technique was greater in aiding the actor in his process than his usual approach.

Ethically, we shall endeavour to keep any obvious hardship to a minimum and the actor shall strictly agree to voice all restrictions to any suggestions when rehearsing.

The final artefact will be a blueprint for finding a path into the imagination which will not only locate a quick and easy approach to finding the character but shall reveal a short, compact rehearsal process strengthening the actor’s choices and revealing fast access to the emotion and action within the text.

I am a member of the above websites and they update me everyday with new jobs coming in. Sometimes I wonder why I am being offered the chance to audition for an eighty year old authentic Eskimo but that’s the carpet bombing emailing from Spotlight.

There are more auditions through Casting Call Pro but only 25% of their jobs are paid.

Constant Casting can be more of a cattle market extras needed.

Castnet has brought me good roles but mainly Student films

Talent Circle is worth a look now and then.

I have tried other websites; Shooting People, Stage online but they can be worse than my listed sites at the present time.

Conclusion…get a good agent or start writing like I did, save some cash and put on your own damn play
